Conspiracy of Technology
My phone may seriously be out to ruin my professional career. I missed the alarms this morning and woke up thirty minutes after I was supposed to be there (the internship is an hour drive from my place). Last week, I was over an hour late, because I missed my alarm and got confused with the time. I had to call out today just so I wouldn’t have to say I overslept, again.
I blame myself. I...

Person Watcher
I have unintentionally become a creeper. I was perfectly content and normal sitting at my own table in the library. Someone asked to sit down. I said sure. And, he chose the seat directly in front of me. Every time I glance up, which happens to be often, I end up staring at him for no particular reason. I blame my boredom. I need some kind of distraction.

And I doubted the ridiculousness of Florida
I chose to ignore the claim that there was a bill going through the legislature about allowing golf courses in state parks. It was too ridiculous to believe someone thought that was a great idea. I was wrong. Nothing is too ridiculous for Florida.

A Conversation with My Nephew . . .
… concerning the solar lights that line the walkway at my parents’ house.
Him: I am like an airplane with these lights… Ready for take off.
Me: You are a plane. That is awesome.
Him. Yeah, you can get inside of me and fly to Tallahassee.
Me: (Trying not to giggle too hard)
The conversation continues on about cupcakes, sprinkles, playing Mario, and riding a tandem bicycle...

This is a blog I wrote on Dec. 14 2008. IT HAS HELD UP SO WELL THROUGH THE YEARS. MAYBE EVEN TRUER TODAY THAN IT WAS THEN!
The Foo Fighters Are a Really Good Band
Seriously. They’re still churning out some pretty good songs. ‘The Pretender’ is really awesome. When it kicks in at the end, I…
A pretty hilarious analysis of the Foo Fighters’ greatness.

Weird Thursday
I am having a difficult and/or weird Thursday.
(1) I woke up an hour late, but did not realize it until I was on the road and thought Jordyn’s car clock was wrong. I, then, embarrassedly had to call and email my internship telling them I would be severely late.
(a) I was so certain that I was up at the right time that I continually questioned Jordyn on being up extremely early. I...

Everything is Better when Slow
I am not sure if you should like records better, because you can slow down the music. I love records for that very reason though. Jordyn and I have been entertaining ourselves by listening to Columbus by Dost at the slower speed. It is hilarious. I particularly love “Welcome to Our Native Land” at the slowed down speed.

The Reverse Lincoln
My sister sadly suffers from an ailment known as the “Reverse Lincoln.” Unlike Lincoln’s tall-standing stature and apparent normal-sitting size, my sister’s deformity is the opposite. When standing, she appears to be of a normal height, but when seated, she seems taller than the average female though her feet rarely touch the ground. It is a difficult disease to suffer...
